Looking back at the preliminary task i did i feel i have gained more confidence and skills using a camcorder to shoot sequences of film and editing them using editing software.
Technical skills:
i have gained many new skills from the process of making m media text, i can now confidently and efficiently use the editing software and use all its features to the best ability i can. To start with in the preliminary task i was absolutely rubbish at filming as i didn't know what shots would look best and where i should put them, i even made the mistake of breaking the 180 degree rule however, from making these mistakes i learnt exactly what the 180 degree rule entailed so i wouldn't break it in my real media product. I also learnt where things like match on actions, panning shots and close ups work best, so using all the information i gathered from doing the preliminary task i feel i used them effectively when making my media product making my media text a success.
Time management:
My time management was in view quite poor to start with as we didn't start filming quick enough to allow us enough time to edit efficiently however, as the term went on we really took control and started filming a lot more, we filmed certain scenes more than once so we had more choice when editing. The group did get behind schedule but this didn't phase us, we worked hard and got the film done. Overall i feel my time management was good but could of been a tiny bit better.
Team skills:
I was very lucky to be put in group where we all worked so well and all had different skills we could use to our advantage. We worked extremely well as a group of 3 to produce the best media text we could, we listened to each others ideas which is one reason i think we did so well, as we all had such good ideas it made it easy to agree on what we would put in our media product and what we would take out. We were able to compromise quickly, if any ideas clashed. I am very please with the way we worked as a team and i am very proud of our finished media product.
Finished product:
The final finished media product is in my view, very effective. The genre is easily established with the fight scene. It captures the audience's attention, makes them think about why he is running away therefore we are intriguing the audience so they want to watch the rest of the film. We twisted some codes and conventions of the normal crime genre of film as well, so this will interest the audience. The editing of the product is also to a high standard therefore this will makes the film look better and visually interesting.
Overall i feel my finished media product is very successful.
